The hostal was in an excellent position. A 2 min walk to Gran Via Metro station. The security was excellent too, so no one could just access the hostal from the street.

Good

The location - close to a metro station, Spain square, and the middle of Madrid. It's located on a pedestrian-only street, but the access by a car/taxi is very easy.

If you don't speak Spanish and you arrive at night (as we did), the Google maps can be deceiving and you can't have any help from the host via any form of messaging - either WhatsApp or Booking texting service.

Central location, easy access to everything - train, metro just down the block.

Excellent location in central Madrid, close to excellent transit options, attractions, restaurants and shopping. Quiet street at night, closed to regular car traffic. Typical hostal in safe and bustling area. Functional and basic room.

Superb

The location is excellent, close to Metro lines, lots of restaurants and shopping (if that's your thing). The room was a good size for two people and the beds were very nice. Also, the windows did a great job of blocking out street noise since we were there during Labor Day parties.

It was very clean and good location. I was able to enter to the room before the check in time. I was able to leave my luggage and pick it up later after the check out.

I wanted to sleep but I could hear what people where talking in the other room.

Very good value for money in Madrid

The location is absolutely excellent, very central, within walking distance to most important thing

I liked everything but for a potential improvement I could suggest putting mini-fridges in the rooms.

Not terrible for the price but not great for people with allergies

comfortable beds, good pillows. finally a place that has foam mattresses, not the antiquated crappy spring mattresses. Not so noisy as other places (though not silent)

Way too much perfume in the room. couldn’t clear it even with the windows open. climate control didn’t work. shower was wonky and sprayed everywhere so had to be hand held. mini fridge would be nice. grout needs to be redone.
